Camper’s very first shop is in Barcelona, facing the Plaza Catalonia. In this project, we renewed the space using vault-shaped ceramic plates as the mold to install floor slab, which is the revolutionary method of construction born in Catalonia. Conventionally, floors had been supported by wooden beams. The idea was such epoch-making that Gaudi drew a lot of hints from this Catalan vault.
The Catalan vault functions as the basic unit of the furniture in the shop, from shelves, benches and counters to place the shoes and gives a warm and friendly atmosphere that reflects the culture of Catalonia.

バルセロナ、カタロニア広場に面するCAMPER第一号店をリニューアルした。ヴォールト状の陶板を型枠にして、床スラブを打設するカタラン・ヴォールトは、カタロニアが生んだ画期的な建築構法であり、木製の梁で床を支えてきたそれ以前の構法に革命をもたらした。ガウディもカタラン・ヴォールトから多くのヒントを得たといわれている。
このカタラン・ヴォールトのユニットで、靴を飾る棚、ベンチ、カウンターをすべてデザインし、カタロニアならではの、暖かくヒューマンなショップが生まれた。
